Local Talent Continues to Deliver for DAWN

14 February 2011

Northumberland-based DAWN Advice has unveiled its new Contracts Delivery Manager as it continues to reward loyalty and home-grown talent.

However Brian Wight, of Morpeth, will already be a familiar face for the thousands of people who access the social enterprise's advice services each year - as Brian originally joined DAWN Advice in 2005 as a debt and housing caseworker.

As DAWN Advice's new Contracts and Delivery Manager Brian, 58, will oversee its services as well as ensuring the efficient delivery of its contracts so clients receive the most appropriate support as quickly as possible.

Liz Chadwick, Chief Executive of DAWN Advice, said: "As a North East social enterprise we are dedicated in helping to support the region's talent, and employee investment is a key part of the DAWN Advice way of working - allowing people to build a solid career within the telephone advice industry.

"This region has a huge pool of talent and it's vital that it is nurtured in order to help build a stronger economy as we continue to face uncertain times.

"As a committed and long-serving employee, Brian was an excellent candidate to help support the organisation as we continue to move forward in offering high quality and impartial advice to people living throughout the region and beyond."

Brian added: "I'm delighted to be taking on the new challenges which my new position will bring. During the time which I have been at DAWN Advice it has grown considerably to an eighty plus team which handles thousands of calls annually, but it has managed to maintain its friendly and welcoming atmosphere - which is extremely important when building relationships with our clients.

"It is a tremendous feeling to know that I can help make a difference to so many people's lives just by coming to work each day and it's extremely rewarding when past clients let us know exactly how they have benefited from our support."

In his spare time Brian, a dad of three from Lynemouth, enjoys spending time with his grandson, long walks with his dogs and restoring classic motorbikes.

DAWN Advice currently employees over eighty people, many of which are fully trained legal and financial professionals, from its base in Seaton Burn. It is a social enterprise which offers free, confidential and independent advice to people across the region and nationally on issues relating to housing, debt, employment, welfare benefits and family law - it is part of the national Citizens Advice service.
