Help is at hand for people in Northumberland with housing problems after North East charity, DAWN Advice recruited a specialist solicitor to its head office in Seaton Burn.

Northumberland-based charity, DAWN Advice has welcomed housing law expert Tessa Crowe, 27, who is from Northumberland, as its new Housing Solicitor and Senior Supervisor.

Through the telephone advice service offered by DAWN, Tessa will provide support and advice to individuals on all aspects of housing law including homelessness, anti-social behaviour, relationship breakdowns and matters around disrepair.

Alongside Tessa's role onsite at DAWN Advice's head office, she will also offer on the spot advice and representation at courts across Northumberland, Tyneside and Durham as part of the charity's Court Duty Housing Scheme.

Commenting on her new position, Tessa said: "As an organisation DAWN Advice is experiencing a real growth period and not only does it have an excellent track record but its also extremely well regarded in the local community.

"I am very excited to be a part of this highly successful team and I'm really looking forward to the new challenges which this position will bring and also in helping DAWN Advice to provide support and advice to people living across Northumberland especially as the organisation continues to grow," Tessa added.

Liz Chadwick, Chief Executive of DAWN Advice, added: "We are absolutely thrilled to be able to welcome Tessa. Through her previous roles Tessa has developed a wealth of knowledge surrounding housing law and she is already becoming a real asset to the team.

"Issues around housing can be extremely stressful and can often have a detrimental effect on a person's health and well-being so it's important that we can offer them the appropriate help and advice through a team of highly experienced professionals like Tessa," Liz finished.

Following the success of Tessa's recent appointment DAWN Advice aims to continue its expansion of the charity's Housing Advice Team as it looks to appoint an additional Housing Solicitor.
