About George
Following 42 years working in Air Traffic Control for both the military and civil aviation industries, George decided to take a different route and joined the Castle Morpeth Citizens Advice Bureau in 1996 as an advisor, and later became a member of the bureau's management board.
It was through his work for Castle Morpeth CAB that George first came into contact with DAWN Advice and after working closely with the organisation, he was invited to join the Board of Trustees in 2010.
Since becoming a DAWN Advice Trustee, George has put his management experience to excellent use and is enjoying the new challenges that his role as a Trustee is offering, in particular the opportunity to continue working to help people living throughout Northumberland. Although retired from the aviation industry George is still a keen practising pilot.
George's hopes for the future of DAWN Advice
"In addition to the excellent services already offered by DAWN Advice we should continue looking for fresh challenges and opportunities outside the organisation to fulfil the challenges which the current economic climate presents.
"By working with, and building on, the existing resources we already have at our disposal we can continue to rise to the new challenges set by these uncertain times."
